VARIOUS reports over the weekend revealed that Sheikh Yasser Al-Habib, 45, above, and his supporters have been in advanced talks to buy Torsa, off the west coast of Scotland. His scheme is to build a school, hospital and mosque.

But the The Scotsman today (Monday) reports that it is understood the owner has not agreed to the £1-million+ sale and the island, that would have come under Shariah law, is unlikely to be sold “to any party who is a bad fit with the local community.”

The report came after it was revealed that the cleric wanted the one-mile long island, which has not been inhabited for 85 years, to become a “homeland” for Muslims “from all over the world.”

Torsa sits in the Slate Isles and was marketed last year by Savills for £1.5 million.

London-based Al-Habib has reportedly raised more than £3m for the project. In a video, he said:

If you want to live free under the banner of the imam [Shia leader], in a special homeland where you feel everything in it reminds you of the awaited mahdi … support this project.

Al-Habib is originally from Kuwait. He was granted asylum in Britain 20 years ago.

BREAKING NEWS: British hate preacher Anjem Choudary, above, whose followers have been linked to numerous terrorists plots around the world, was sentenced to life imprisonment with a minimum of 28 years today (Tuesday) for directing a terrorist organisation. Choudary was convicted last week of directing al-Muhajiroun, which was banned as a terrorist organisation more than a decade ago, and encouraging others to support the proscribed group. The 57-year-old was sentenced at London’s Woolwich Crown Court to a minimum term of 28 years.

Al-Habib, who spent nearly three months in jail in Kuwait for insulting the Sunni faith, leads the Mahdi [Messiah] Servants Union (MSU).

A senior Iranian cleric, Naser Makarem Shirazi, has referred to Al-Habib as a “hired agent or a mad man” and stated:

Recently, an illiterate fool, non-clergy U.K citizen in the name of Shia has insulted sacred matters of Sunni Muslim brothers.

Savills, which is managing the sale, said the island continues to attract interest from all around the world.

Torsa has one farmhouse and a ruined castle and is accessible only by private boat from Luing—itself reached via a ferry from the island of Seil. Its name is of Norse origin and roughly translates as “Thor’s Island”.

  1. Sell the Scottish island Fockall to the MoCo rabble, they could build a huge mosque to house all of their imams and mullahs and fit it out with gargantuan loudspeakers to summon the ass-wavers.

To sell this island to a “Firebrand Muslim” would be to stain the island and everything associated with it. Every building and every organisation would be affected. There is a wholesomeness about these islands which would be gone.
