NY police chaplain, a Catholic priest, arrested for allegedly hiring a prostitute

PRAYERS are being uttered by the Catholic Archdiocese of New York for Father Michael Eguino, above, who was busted last week for allegedly soliciting a prostitute, a charge he denies.

The Christian Post reports that Eguino, a 40-year-old pastor at the Church of St. Anselm & St. Roch was arrested last Friday and charged with soliciting prostitution.

Eguino was arrested not far from his parish. He will soon appear appear before a judge at a Bronx courthouse.

In addition to his position as a parish priest and police chaplain, Eguino also served as a spiritual director for the NYPD Manhattan, Bronx, and Staten Island Holy Name Society.

Oliver Storch, the attorney for Eguino, released a statement quoted by News 12 of New York on Saturday denying that the clergyman was patronising a hooker when he was arrested.

According to Storch, the arrest follows a “prior allegation of a woman who is not a prostitute but a troubled individual who Father Eguino had counseled in the past.”

The Catholic Archdiocese of New York issued a statement for Eguino’s parish on Saturday, explaining that it “will cooperate with the investigation by the appropriate authorities.”

In it it said:

Father Eguino denies the allegations and maintains the presumption of his innocence. However, for the good of the parish, Father Eguino has voluntarily stepped away from the parish while the matter is investigated.

The Catholic regional body concluded by saying that, as the present situation unfolds:

We remain united in prayer for all those involved, especially the parish family of St. Anselm.

Members of Eguino expressed surprise at the news of the arrest, with one congregant telling News 12 that she was “nn shock right now.”

“He’s such a nice person,” said another member of the congregation, as quoted by News 12.

I can’t believe it. I can’t believe this happened. Such a nice person.

    Good advert for the oldest profession, saving children from the Roman Catholic Sleaze Corporation (RCSC) kiddie-fiddlers.

    The RCSC head of paedophilia (pope) was walking to a convent when approached by a prostitute who said “blow-job sir?” Naturally, only being interested in children, and not understanding ‘blow-job’ he ignored her; arriving at the convent he asked the mother-superior “what’s a blow-job?” “20 Euro, same as on the street” was her reply.

    Religion is a wonderful cover for infamy. In the 17th century aged and innocent women were regularly accused of being witches and tortured to death, often by being burned alive. Even at this distance the thought of the terror and agony of these old woman still shocks.

      Not just old women, any human of any age (mainly females) or animal was fair game for the religious bigots; today, it is the same in islamic paradises, an innocent (especially a non-mohammedan) is easliy removed using blasphemy laws: It happens every day in islam-is-bad and in the rest of Pakistan.
