DESPITE two promises by the Conservative Government that it would end discredited and harmful faith-based practices aimed at ‘heterosexualising’ gay people, no bans were ever implemented.

But this will now change under the new Labour administration.

And those in favour of continuing these practices are furious.

Literally within minutes of King Charles III’s setting out Labour’s legislative agenda for the next parliamentary session, including a “full, trans-inclusive, ban”, Christian Concern—a frothing anti-LGBT+ hate group—posted a video on YouTube today (Wednesday).

In it CC’s Communications Manager, Paul Huxley, above, came out with this monumentally stupid remark:

People want to access help to be the man or woman that God made them to be.

He added that the “poorly throught-out ban would breach human rights.”

The buffoon, who would need a diagram to peel a banana, was slapped down by one viewer who wrote:

Disagree … as a Christian you should know that God never makes mistakes and we are ALL born as intended for a purpose that only God is aware of …

Also quick to react, and in a far more positive manner, was Humanists UK. Speaking for the group ahead of the King’s Speech, Nick Baldwin commented:

The campaign to ban conversion practices has been a long and difficult road. We hope … that the new Government will finally deliver a ban that will effectively and robustly protect the whole LGBT community.

And Ben Bradshaw, who was a Labour MP for more than 25 years and campaigned for LGBTQ+ rights before stepping down at the previous election, wrote:

Good news that the new @UKLabour Government will finally ban the psychological abuse of LGBT people sometimes called conversion ‘therapy’ after repeated broken promises on this from the Tories. Long overdue.
