AMERICAN Family Radio (AFR)—an arm of designated hate group, the American Family Association—has been airing sermons by Cleveland-based Begg, above, for more than a decade. But it has decided to drop Begg’s “Truth For Life” podcasts after it was revealed that he had advised a grandmother to attend her grandson’s marriage to a transgender person … and to bring a gift.
Christian Post reports that AFR apparently went into meltdown after the contents of a podcast aired last Sepember came to the attention of horrifed Christian commentators.
In announcing that it would no longer be giving Begg airtime, AFR said in a statement:
Recently, it came to our attention that Pastor Begg made statements that were unbiblical and fail to line up with the decades of faithful adherence to Scripture that listeners have come to expect from him. In essence, when the question was asked of him whether or not a family member should attend an unbiblical wedding ceremony between two homosexuals, Pastor Begg counseled Christians to attend and take a gift.
At American Family Association, we believe it to be an act of unfaithfulness to God to attend a ceremony that celebrates any union outside of the biblical model of marriage as being between one man and one woman. Members of our leadership team held a call with Alistair Begg’s team and were unsuccessful in convincing them of his error.
Scottish-born Begg, 71, serves as senior pastor at Parkside Church in Cleveland along with his radio ministry “Truth For Life,” carried by nearly 1,800 radio stations nationwide.

Back in 2015 the US Human Right’s Campaign said that despite attempts by the AFA to shed its hateful image, including ousting its spokesperson Bryan Fischer, above, it remains a hate group.
HRC Vice President for Communications Fred Sainz said:
No matter how much flashy PR tricks the AFA tries to pull, there’s no putting lipstick on this pig. The AFA has more than earned their label as a hate group, and as long as they continue to promote intolerant laws and social stigma against LGBT Americans, politicians on both sides of the aisle should know that associating with the AFA will have consequences.
HRC pointed out that Fischer had blamed the Holocaust on LGBT people, stating:
Homosexuality gave us Adolf Hitler, and homosexuals in the military gave us the Brown Shirts, the Nazi war machine and six million dead Jews.
He also called for an “Underground Railroad” to take children from gay and lesbian parents.
AFA itself said the Boy Scouts of America would be better off drowning in the sea than allowing LGBT+ Scouts.
AFA also said it thought fewer students would commit suicide if adults tell young people it is wrong to be gay and help them to “choose” to be straight.
It advocated criminalising LGBT+ people and, when talking about punishment, asked:
Do you put them to death, do you lock ’em up … what do you do?

American Christian nationalism v theocratic Iran: a recipe for utter disaster
