Hate preacher Franklin Graham invites people he despises—gays and Muslims—to be ‘saved’ at his UK gigs

GRAHAM, left, recently pictured with god-besotted former U.S. Vice President Mike Pence, was left spitting tacks in 2020 after various UK venues banned him from preaching, labelling his abhorrent views on homosexuality and Islam as homophobic.

The Billy Graham Evangelistic Association (BGEA) subsequently took legal action on the grounds of freedom of speech and freedom of religion and successfully got six bans by UK venues overturned. That happened after his tour was abandoned.

Cock-a-hoop over its win, the BGEA is returning to the U.K. for another bite of the cherry with a “God Loves You” tour.

Premier Christian News reports that the BGEA has announced that its evangelical tour is set to visit Resorts World Arena in Birmingham on June 13, 2024.

The free event will also take place at OVO Hydro in Glasgow, Scotland, on June 22, 2024.

Speaking to Premier, Graham said the rescheduled tour was not just a personal win but a win for the church.

The man who said Islam was “a religion of hatred. It’s a religion of war” and defended Vladimir Putin’s gay propaganda law, praising him for “protecting children from any homosexual agenda or propaganda”, told Premier:

I don’t hate anyone, anybody. And my message is for everybody. I want gay people to come, I want Muslims to come I want people of different races to come and hear that God loves them and cares for them. And that Christ took their sins and died himself for our sins Himself on the cross. When he when he was nailed to that cross, he was nailed there for you and me, and for every human being.

Blah, blah blah …

I’ve always maintained that the biggest mistake Pontius Pilate ever made was to have Jesus crucified. If he’d barbecued him instead we wouldn’t be exposed to hateful bigots like Graham and their mind-numbing baloney.

    I’d only written to my MP once before when the odious Steven Anderson announced a visit to the UK and I wrote to say he should be banned – and he was. I also then wrote to get FG banned – but didn’t the Covid lockdown actually prevent his coming in 2020? Is it worth writing to my MP and the Home Secretary again about his proposed 2024 visit?

      Hi Matilda, Covid wasn’t a factor. Graham scrapped his 2020 tour after he was banned by a number of venues. (https://www.insider.com/franklin-graham-trump-ally-revives-uk-tour-promised-wont-offend-2021-11). Letting MPs know of opposition to his relaunched tour may be helpful.

    Graham is an abomination and so distant from civilised behaviour that he is out of sight. It seems that this is exactly the behaviour that convinces his unbalanced supporters to unload their cash into his coffers.

      In a way, I feel sorry for him. They were all brought up in a poisonous atmosphere, by a mother who was, by all accounts, a tartar. She seemed to feel overwhelmed by the responsibility of bringing up the children almost single-handedly – not a very Biblical model! And whatever happened, he was never going to be able to fill his father’s shoes – a bit like Donald Campbell, and we all know what happened there. He just doesn’t have the oratorical skills or charismatic personality of Graham Snr, and is overshadowed anyway by the awful “Prosperity Gospel” and “healing ministries”, as people continually seek for something even more “exciting” and outrageous. Billy Graham was very much a man of his time, and his offspring – including grandchildren, sad to say – are all floundering around, desperately trying to make a name for themselves.

        Your comment reminds me of someone else desperately trying to make a name for himself. I refer to the Archbishop of Canterbury who is almost invisible in the media. Someone in the BBC decided to give him a boost by letting him do some interviews. He remains invisible. I listened to one some time ago and it was so dull and pointless. Banal doesn’t begin to describe it.

    Franklin Graham is a man of God who tells people how to be saved. He is not a “hate preacher”. You will do well to listen to his message and respond by getting saved.

      The suggestion that a bigot like Graham could save anyone from whatever is there to be saved is ludicrous. Graham needs saving from himself.

        No, Broga, you got it wrong – Franklin Graham doesn’t save peoples’ souls, he just tells people how they can be saved – by faith in Christ as their personal Saviour.

          Bob, thanks for putting me right on that. I wonder if I could be saved as I have some initial problems. Perhaps you could give me some help. For a start, which God/Jesus do I go to to seek salvation. There are many different Gods and I don’t know which is the true God. And don’t tell me they are all the same God with different names. Their characteristics are just too different.

          Next the bible is said to be the true word of God. The problem there is that the bible contradicts itself many times. One contradiction means at least one must be wrong and therefor the bible cannot be true. Check this by typing “bible contradictions” into Google.

          There are also many different versions of the bible. Is the language of God that which we read in the King James version? Are we to believe that God communicates in King James bible English.? This was written by men and there were many re-writes.

          The bible has many requirements which are impossible to follow in modern life.

          God is said to be all powerful and all loving. Yet there is so much suffering and slaughter in the world. Innocent babies die in agony, animals can only live by killing other animals which they tear to bits while still alive , species which God presumably created are driven to extinction by humans.

          Man is created in God’s image. In a cosmos of billions of galaxies God would have eyes, arms, legs, heart etc. What possible use could these be?

          Why does God allow the suffering? He either could stop it but chooses not to and so is not all loving. Or he would like to stop it but cannot so he is not all powerful.

          Best of luck. If you don’t respond to clearing up these few issues I will understand.
