THE South Australian Liberal Party has confirmed that Carston Woodhouse, above, a candidate in the upcoming state election, will not be running for the party after a series of idiotic remarks he made about homosexuality, feminism and abortion resurfaced.
Among the outrageous things Woodhouse said was that he had seen witches “melting.” This prompted Angry Atheist Hermant Mehta to write “this guy thinks The Wizard of Oz was a documentary.”
In describing supernatural experiences tied to his religious beliefs, Woodhouse said:
I’ve also seen people do crazy things with supernatural love where they’ve hugged witches that have come into church services and hugged them and watched them melt.
Woodhouse had been running for the northern Adelaide seat of Wright before comments he made on an American podcast in July 2025 resurfaced, triggering criticism from political opponents and an outraged public.

During the interview on the US-based Elijahfire podcast, Woodhouse criticised feminism and homosexuality and questioned the legitimacy of same-sex marriage.
Who knows what demonic realms we’ve opened up to the world, to ourselves on the earth, when you forsake it by accepting homosexuality.
He also rejected the idea of same-sex marriage and opposed abortion in cases involving rape or incest during the podcast discussion.
Woodhouse has close connections with an outfit called Alive in Christ Ministeries, and can be seen preaching about “righteousness” in an ACM video.

South Australian Opposition leader Ashton Hurn, above, confirmed this week that Woodhead would no longer contest the election under the Liberal banner.
I stood here yesterday and made myself clear that I did not support the comments made by a particular candidate, that remains true today, and that person is no longer a candidate for the next election.
The Liberal leader declined to clarify whether Woodhouse had resigned or been formally removed.
Now I’m telling you, that he’s no longer the candidate.
