Well, ain’t that a kick in the head? Stupid camel stunt in a Texas megachurch puts woman in hospital

CAMELS are known to deliver vicious kicks that sometimes can be fatal, but this fact didn’t deter a the organisers of a Christmas spectacular at the multi-campus Champion Forest Baptist Church to bring bring one of the beasts into a narrow aisle, where it lashed out with a hind leg that connected with the face of one of the attendees.

This act of gross idiocy, reported by the Christian Post, led to the hospitalisation of the woman — and a promise from the church that no more live animals would be allowed in future performances.

Champion Forest Baptist Church’s communications director Steven Miori told NBC News in a statement that the kicking incident was “unexpected.”

Just like the Virgin Mary’s pregnancy, huh?

The church’s website described the event as “a 90 minute, family friendly show celebrating the birth of Jesus and the joy of the holiday season!”

Miori said:

Champion Forest regrets that this happened. Our team responded immediately, and emergency services were engaged.

While the exact nature of the unidentified woman’s injuries remains unclear, a study published by the National Library of Medicine states that a camel’s kick is extremely dangerous and the leading cause of camel-related injuries to humans. A camel’s kick is powerful enough to cause high morbidity or death.

“Patients with a kick-related injury had a significantly higher rate of maxillofacial fractures compared with other mechanisms,” the study states.
