NORTHERN Ireland-based Core Issue Trust, headed by “ex-gay” Mike Davidson, above, has been awarded £20,000 in compensation plus legal costs by Barclays Bank, which closed CIT’s account in a 2020.
But the bank has not reinstated the account, Davidson told Tory toff and leading Brexiteer Sir Jacob Rees-Mogg in an interview broadcast by right-wing GB News.
Davidson told Rees-Mogg that, bowing to pressure from LGBT+ activists, Barclays closed the account without giving any reason.
CIT, he said, was also black-listed by Paypal, Mailchimp, Tik-Tok and all of its social media accounts on Facebook. And some of its conversion therapy propaganda was removed from YouTube.
Charity status retained
CIT, however, still retains it charity status, despite efforts to have it removed by, among others, The National Secular Society.
Watch Piers Morgan call “gay cure” advocates a “dangerous and malevolent”, and Davidson “an old bigot”:
Christian Headlines reported on Friday that supporters of CIT and its associate, The International Federation for Therapeutic and Counseling Choice (IFTCC), held a demonstration outside Barclays at London’s Canary Wharf.
At the time of of the closure, the bank was the headline sponsor of London Pride.
The protesters delivered a petition with over 72,000 signatures to Barclays’ CEO, Matt Hammerstein, calling for its bank account to be reinstated.
Said Davidson:
We want Barclays to acknowledge that in our world of competing ideologies, those who change their minds and go in new directions more consistent with their own goals should be protected and have the right to seek life goals meaningful to them.

Cue the deranged Andrea Williams, above, Chief executive of the Christian Legal Centre. She said:
This was a cruel and orchestrated campaign by LGBT activists targeting a Christian ministry, and Barclays fell for it.
Rather than standing up for free speech, Christian freedom, and minority rights, Barclays Bank Plc surrendered to the intimidatory tactics of LGBT activists.
We will continue to defend and stand with Mike Davidson and CIT and any Christian ministry who falls foul of the weaponising of the ‘conversion therapy’ ban.
